Johanne Demuy

sp

Born in Verdun, Quebec.
A graduate of the Fine Arts School «Mission Renaissance» in Montreal where I learned the different painting techniques from the Old Masters to the Impressionnists.
Attended workshops with Max Steibel, well known canadian pastellist.

Art gallery: Represented by the D.M. Beland art gallery since 1998.

Publications : Guide de Roussan, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004.

Annual auction of the Joliette Red Cross Society . My works were selected by a jury for their auctions, from 1998 to 2004.

As a member of the Pastel Society of Eastern Canada, in 1997 at La Maison Lanthier in Kirkland, I was awarded the third prize by this Society for one of my pastels.

Annual exhibition-competition of the «Galerie d?art vente et location» of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts 1996-97 (one of my oil paintings was selected by the jury, exhibited in this gallery and subsequently sold in May 1997)

Chateau Saint-Antoine, St-Antoine-sur-Richelieu, 1993 to 1996.

Solo exhibitions :

«Le Balcon d?Art» art gallery in St-Lambert, 1991. (part of the proceeds from the sale of my works was donated to the Optimist Club of Ville Lemoyne)

Signature member of the Pastel Society of Eastern Canada (PSEC) since 1996.
Many of my works (over 100) are in private collections.
One was acquired, in 1991, by the ? Syndicat de l?enseignement de l?Ouest de Montreal ?, affiliated to the CSQ.
Others were purchased by a gallery owner established in Geneva, Switzerland.
