Marta Franco
Marta Franco is a visual artist and sculptor born in Turkey. Having begun
her artistic education in Lima-Peru under the guidance of Adolfo Winternitz
and Anna Maccagno at the Universidad Católica, Franco is currently
studying at OCAD, the Ontario College of Art and Design.
Whether drawings or sculptures, representational or conceptual, Franco’s
work can be seen as a series of meditations on the interplay between the
human condition and time. The dynamism of movement, of journeys and
cycles, of transitions and doorways are marked by the transformations of
both the physical and the spiritual. Franco writes, “For me, art is a healing
source and it is a great inspiration for hope. What I like to depict in my
work are the basic human “momentos” of stages and growth in order to
understand them better. It is indeed a big challenge that keeps me going…
keeps me alive”.
