Allida NeillyA good portrait is one which apart from its aesthetic appeal also gives the viewer the impression that they know something of the sitter?s personality. A good likeness includes capturing the sitter?s facial features, the right _expression and body language. As well as the face, I find that the hands are very expressive. I try to include them in every portrait. As a portrait painter I?m constantly reminded of how very personal a portrait is and that it should always be treated with respect.
