On behalf of the Portrait Society of Canada, it is with great honor and pleasure that we officially announce the opening of the Virtual Portrait Museum to portrait artists and sculptors from Canada and around the world.
Today is a very special day for all of us.
This new virtual space brings together unique masterpieces, the stories behind them, and the creative journeys of the artists who created them. Today, we are sharing some of our greatest gifts with the world: our creativity, our love of art, our enthusiasm, and our individual voices.
Every artist carries a unique talent and a unique story. We believe that artists have a profound purpose: to create, to discover, to express, and to enrich the lives of others through their work.
Every portrait is more than an image. It is a reflection of a person, a moment, an emotion, and a story.
Portraiture is one of the most profound, significant, and challenging forms of art. It inspires us to explore the human face and, through it, the human experience. It connects generations, preserves memories, and gives us a deeper understanding of who we are.
The permanent collection of the Virtual Portrait Museum is now on display on our website, www.portraitsociety.ca , and it will continue to grow day by day.
Every artist whose work becomes part of the permanent collection will forever have a place in the Museum. The Museum portal is open to artists worldwide, and artists are welcome to join at any time in their creative journey.
We are excited to discover new and significant artists, explore their stories and insights, and open a window into the inspiration, dedication, and creative processes of artists in their studios.

The Portrait Society of Canada was founded in 2001, and this year we are proud to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The opening of the Virtual Portrait Museum marks a significant milestone in our history and an exciting new chapter for visual artists in Canada and around the world.
